Mr. Hamilton's Message

I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and well.  It’s seems forever ago that we closed out the year virtually with the vision of once more returning in the fall.  Sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case right now, and we face a fall which seems to be one that will be a virtual launch to the 2020-2021 school year.

Regardless of what the future holds, I assure you that Forest Hill will be ready to provide your children the best learning experiences possible, because Forest Hill’s staff are risk-takers, creative problem solvers, and committed to service.  Over a dozen of our teachers and staff are working on county leadership teams battle-planning solutions for the fall and writing and revising 100s of lessons and unit outcomes for our curricular offices.  We will be the best-trained staff for you and your children, and we are preparing detailed lessons for both live, online learning and asynchronous lessons for use anytime during the day.

Our teams of teachers will remain responsive, as we were in the spring, to your needs and frustrations.  There will continue to be tight teamwork in all our grades as we work together to plan, prepare and share the workload transforming what we do through virtual learning.

We will continue the close partnership with our PTA, and will be looking ahead to schedule some outside use of facilities for some meet-and-greets closer to the school year beginning.

This challenge we will face together.  There will be growing pains and certainly some tears on this road, but there will be triumphs as well.  We will work hard for you and yours.  We will be one of the best schools at this because we are relentless in our desire to do what’s right for kids.

Currently class lists are scheduled to go out August 28th.  If that changes you’ll hear from us.  Keep an eye on our social media and web page, we will be posting some ‘addendums’ to back to school materials lists in light of our new situation.

I remain proud to be your principal, and we don’t believe in the no-win scenario.

Take care and we miss you all,

Mr. Hamilton
