How to register for Kindergarten
The online portal is only available to incoming students that live in the FHES attendance area. Home addresses that do not match will be forwarded to the appropriate home school. If for some reason, your address prevents you from registering, please email [email protected]
- Below you will find a Registration Checklist that outlines the documents required to complete registration (it is also located on the portal site for reference).
- Below you will also find a Prior Car Experience form. This form is for Kindergarten students only. The Maryland State Department of Education inquires as to your child’s experience prior to kindergarten. The choices are explained on the form and will be asked in the portal. This section of the registration process needs to be completed as a total of 1 full day. For example, all day daycare, or ½ day preschool and ½ day at home, or ½ day daycare center and ½ day pre-Kindergarten. The attached form is only for your reference; you will answer those questions in the portal.
- Uploading documents: Please upload your supporting documentation. Please save your online utility bills as a PDF file and upload. You may take a picture of a document and upload; however, that document will need to be presented in person for final acceptance. If you don’t have a scanner at home, Smartphones can take a picture of a document and save as a PDF – under the NOTES feature.
- Uploading Picture ID: If possible, please take a picture of you driver’s license, state ID or passport and upload the picture.
- Part 1 of the Health Inventory may be completed online. Part 2 of the Health Inventory needs to be completed and signed by a healthcare professional. These forms are available to print or you may request a form be mailed to you. Please email to let us know if you prefer a form mailed. (Immunization records need to be on file before the start of the school year.)
- The online portal explains the steps along the way. In the first step, you will need to create an account and verify your email.
- All registrations completed online will require an in person final registration. You will need to present original birth certificate and drivers license.
- If you know of any family that has an incoming Kindergartener for the 2021-2022 school year, please make them aware of this information.
